TOWELS MADE OF WASHI
WASHI MATOU is a gentle towel made of Washi, a traditional Japanese paper that is made from the inner barks of (native Japanese) trees.
Woven with this naturally soft material, these towels are delicate and pleasant on the skin. The calming colors of our towels complement the living spaces in Japan.
They also eliminate unpleasant odors and regulate humidity. Thus, using this towel in your everyday life is comfortable and convenient.

凹凸のあるワッフル織りには、ほどよい弾力性と、肌に触れる面積が広く吸水性にも優れているため、素早く心地よく拭き取ってくれます。
汗などの気になる臭いは、天然成分である和紙の消臭効果によりにおいが残りにくく、長く愛用することができます。
和紙糸のワッフル生地は、凸凹に空気の層ができやすく、使った後でも乾きやすいのも魅力です。
Convenient in Daily Living
The uneven waffle weave provides the right amount of elasticity
while covering a large area of the skin. It also has excellent water-absorbing characteristics for quick drying.
Unlike ordinary towels that easily stink after repeated use,
Washi contains natural deodorizing material that prevents unpleasant and stubborn odors, such as sweat, from being stuck on the towel. Therefore,
it can be used for a longer time.
Waffle fabrics with Washi threads have good air permeability that makes it easy to dry.

日本の暮らしに寄り添う、自然由来の和紙の特性を活かした糸とリサイクルコットンを撚り合わせ、タオルを織りあげることで、綿だけのタオルよりも吸水性が高く、すぐに乾くタオルができました。
Woven with Washi Thread
These towels are created with natural Washi threads relevant to Japanese living. By twisting recycled cotton and weaving towels, we have created a towel that is more absorbent and quick drying than a regular towel.
和紙は呼吸する
高温多湿な日本の風土に合わせ、調湿・通風効果の高い和紙の障子は「呼吸する素材」として、長く日本の家に寄り添ってきました。また和紙には多孔性という特質により、呼吸するように住空間の換気と空気を整えてくれます。
Breathable
Due to Japan’s hot and humid weather in summer, Washi has long been used in Japanese paper sliding doors to control humidity and provide ventilation for most Japanese homes. Because of its porous nature, it gives good airflow in living spaces.
